Lyrics:
With the face and nose exposed, you're at risk for melanoma
The solution you might find in Mexico, or Barcelona
You know rain can soak you to the bone, and take you from hot to cold
It's gonna take something with a brim that's big and wide and bold
Get me my sombrero
Come rain or shine, I know that I'll be fine
Yeah, my sombrero
Seems ridiculous, but it's function over form
Don't I look good, yeah I feel strong
With my sombrero on
Don't I look good, yeah I feel strong
With my sombrero on
This one is kind of a folk/prog fusion. I hope you like it!
Lyrics:
Man with brain is trapped in a rude mood
No smelling salts around to come to
I'm tapping the bell but I don't hear it ring
And my sirens quit the band 'cause they can't sing
The violent rhythm is silent, but it's rich
Hit the __ on my downbeat, if you wish
Put me in your pocket, take me anywhere
I'm thumbing both directions, I don't care
Brought out the '35 for this one, hope you enjoy. Smooches!!
Lyrics:
It’s been my experience, ***damn it’s a cold, cold world
From the moment I appeared I’ve been fighting just to make it my own
Nothing I’ve wanted has ever been given
I had go out and take it, you see
Sometimes this way of making decisions has gotten the better of me
But I can wash away my soul
When I bathe in that Moon Glow
What I was trying to do here is create a tale of two slightly different halves, building tension in two halves as well. I used the jumbo 12 string mic'd up, and I had to use a complete take, as there's no way I could seamlessly play into or edit guitar parts on this one.
On a side note, I swear my guitar and mic cables actually come alive and get crazy amazing tangled, only when I'm stoned.
I wrote this song as an homage to those towns that a person hits when thru-hiking a long-distance trail that really turn you into hiker trash. I also want to send some love to all of this year's prospective hiker trash that had to postpone a dream.
Lyrics:
I strolled to the road dusty and tired
But my hitch to town gave me something, got me wired
And I'm up
In a one-blink town
