Pass Me the Map
Published: 10-20-10
Three young filmmakers drive the the Pan-American Highway to investigate the effects of the Plan Puebla Panama (PPP).  The three cross the border into Mexico “and beyond”.
The PPP is a multinational development plan to build roads, dams and canals through Mexico and Central America.  It creates infrastructure for corporations to access natural and human resources in the region.  Local communities unite in resistance to promote alternative development.
Pass Me the Map weaves vibrant and intimate images with an original soundtrack along the cities and countryside of the Pan-American Highway.  The soundtrack features: Fuga, Department of Eagles, honeybird, Jahmila, Amber Mendez and Joselyn Wilkinson.

Pass Me the Map is about the sharing of information from North to South - and South to North.  The video is accessible to both Spanish and English-speaking audiences.
Directed by Spencer Wilkinson, Pass Me the Map is available for screenings at film festivals, organizations or schools.  The film is a crucial source of information about current struggles in Mexico and Central America.  It presents important development conflicts in the region, including the takeover of the Chixoy Dam in Guatemala.
