

The Park County Historical Society presents John Redmond as frontier preacher Father John L. Dyer. Redmond portrays the famous preacher describing his life and times in the Colorado Rocky Mountains in the 1800s. John Lewis Dyer answered the call to ministry in middle age. He journeyed to Colorado in 1859, walking most of the way, to fulfill a life-long desire to see Pikes Peak. He was appointed an itinerant preacher to the mining camps in what are now Lake, Summit, and Park counties.
