A DOM Membership is required for content submission (unless you are a 501c3 nonprofit and would like to submit a PSA*). If you want a regular time slot you have to commit to continually and regularly submit shows and have at least three shows in our system when you make a Series Request for a radio timeslot. You can also check out our Content Agreement Policies.

*Nonprofits can email calvin@open.media with the same submission instructions below. Please include proof of your nonprofit status in your email.

Once you have a paid membership, and you’ve signed in at denveropenmedia.org, you can create a Project. This will be your file, or album, under which your individual song(s) or piece(s) of audio will go.

Step 1: Create a Project (If you've already created your project, skip to Step #2)

All songs/shows must first have a "project" created, even if there's only one show/song in your project. Projects can be album names, collections, or the name of a series for which you will create many episodes (ie, a podcast series with individual podcast episodes. Follow these instructions to create your project.

  1. Hover over “Projects” in the black bar at the top right hand corner of the page. Click on
    “Submit new project”

  2. You MUST fill in these fields in the project form:

    1. Title

    2. Project type (Series or Single show/special)

    3. Media Type (Audio) - MUST SELECT THIS FIRST TO FIND THE CORRECT THEMES

    4. Acceptable Radio Themes:

      1. Music: Classical, Solo Instrument, & Vocal

      2. Music: Dance/Electronic

      3. Music: Folk, Country & Bluegrass

      4. Music: Hip-Hop, R&B, & Jazz

      5. Music: Latin & World

      6. Music: Rock, Indie, Punk, & Post

      7. Neighborhood & Community Events

      8. Poetry, Comedy, & Avant-Garde

      9. Talk Radio, News, & Culture

    5. Genre

    6. Rating

    7. Language

    8. Locally produced

  3. Any other fields (Body, Logo, Credits) add to the project’s visual and informational appeal when posted on our website. For example:


  1. Click Save. You will be brought to a summary page like the one above.

  2. Make sure you have your audio ready as an MP3 file with 256kbps High Quality

Step 2: Submit Song/Show (Audio File)

Once you have all your audio files ready, go back up to the black bar at the top and hover over “Shows.” Click on “Submit new show.”

 

 

Complete the following fields:

  • Project: In the dropdown menu, select the project that you just made (if you still need to make one click here)

  • Media file: Select “Audio”

  • Media format: Keep as HD

  • Audio file: Select your file from your file location and click “upload.” NOTE: Audio files must be in MP3 format. Title CANNOT start with a number, cannot use spaces, and cannot use symbols. Rename, if needed. Underscores are ok.

Album Cover: If desired, select file and click “upload.”

  • Show Title: Enter the title of the song/piece

  • Media Type (Audio) - MUST SELECT THIS FIRST TO FIND THE CORRECT THEMES

  • Locally Produced: Select whether the content was created locally or not

  • Complete or update Metadata Fields

    • Theme:

      • Music: Classical, Solo Instrument, & Vocal

      • Music: Dance/Electronic

      • Music: Folk, Country & Bluegrass

      • Music: Hip-Hop, R&B, & Jazz

      • Music: Latin & World

      • Music: Rock, Indie, Punk, & Post

      • Neighborhood & Community Events

      • Poetry, Comedy, & Avant-Garde

      • Talk Radio, News, & Culture

    • Genre

    • Rating

    • Language

  • Add your desired visual to Show Thumbnail to be sure it appears with the audio content

  • Click “Save” when finished

  • Finally: relax, listen and share your content with family and friends. Ask them to vote on your songs/pieces so your work gets more airtime on 92.9 FM / 89.3 HD3. When you post on social media, be sure to tag Open Media Foundation and Denver Open Media!
