Review of Year
In Project: Brainiacs

Brainiacs today includes a slight review of some of the events of this year, as we intend to continue in the next month as a celebration of the five year anniversary of Brainiacs' start on Jan. 17, 2007.

Ben Sharrow's solo was inadvertently left out of last week's program, so here it is.

We include clips from Ed Reinhart Sr. and Jr. when they joined Brainiacs January 22, 2011 for a show hosted by Rick Prokaski.

And also Kelly Jantz, mother of Jake Snakenberg, spoke so eloquently during Legislative hearings on Senate Bill 40, which became law requiring coaches of youth sports to take an online course to learn symptoms of a concussion so fewer athletes will die from SECOND IMPACT SYNDROME. This was a huge accomplishment in 2011 for the entire Brain Injury community.

But what's next?

We include a clip from Dr. Donald Receveur, our very first guest, discussing the healthcare industry's discrimination against people with head injuries, including denying appropriate diagnostic care to children and others.

Also, Steve Shapiro, attorney and member of the board of the Brain Injury Association of Colorado, speaks a bit at the end when Paula Rhoads, host, is also discussing 3t MRIs.

In between, we include clips of deer in snow.

Happy New Year.
