In this show we’ll travel to Cherokee Ranch, twenty miles south of Denver in the foothills of the Colorado Rocky Mountains in the small town of Sedalia.
The history of ranch starts before Colorado became a state;
The first settler on record was John E. Blunt in 1873, The next resident was Frederick Flower in 1880 and then there was Denver-ite Charles Alfred Johnson.
Our story today centers around the then named Charlford (Charles – Gifford) Castle that was built between 1924-1926.
The castle was designed by prominent Denver architect Burnham F. Hoyt.
