I’ve been staying busy these past few months learning my way around the Air Force Academy cadet chapel in Colorado Springs. I don't think that I’ve shared the information that I have been accepted as a tour guide volunteer at the cadet chapel. Along with all the great information that I now can share about the cadet chapel with visitors, many folks also come with questions concerning other displays on the Academy grounds. One of the other jaw dropping sites in addition to the cadet chapel is the aircraft that you see as you drive in the north gate, that being a Boeing B-52 Stratofortress bomber named “Diamond lil”.

My own military experience was in Army aviation working with helicopters, therefore a Boeing B-52 bomber is way out of my knowledge zone. So as I do with many of my radio shows I started rummaging around the Internet and looking for a subject matter expert and I surfed into the B-52 Stratofortress association. So with one well placed email I made contact with Air Force retired colonel Mike Edwards who is the current president of the Stratofortress association.
