Judge Michael Harr had a conflict of interest, a prejudice and an abuse of discretion when he heard Paula Rhoads' worker's comp case because his brother, Jim Harr, had employed Paula Rhoads after her traumatic brain injury and disability but before the hearings.

Dr. Mark Cilo, who passed a couple of years ago, but worked in intensive care at St. Anthony Hospital with people with traumatic brain injuries, spoke in 2007 at the Brain Injury Association of Colorado's annual Vail Conference, on "Early Recovery from Severe Diffuse Brain Damage: One Neurologist's Perspective."
This speech is still a good primer on various types of brain injuries, how doctors consider who is in a "vegetative state" and who is likely to regain consciousness and improve.
