On Colorado Day, August 1st, in 1938 a crowd gathered in Antlers Park, Colorado Springs, to dedicate a monument - the retired Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad (D&RGW) Steam Locomotive #168 - in honor of the railroads founder, Civil war General William Jackson Palmer, who died in 1909.

In honor of the ancient Persian Harvest Festival of love and light (Mehregan), Shahrzad Khorsandi visited us from Los Angeles who is a specialist in Classical Persian Dance Also, Farabi Ensemble, a local Colorado group, delighted with traditional and folk Persian melodies: Ahmad Soufiani, Tar, Setar, Vocals, Frankie Peyman, Tombak and Meg York woodwinds, plus members of the Persian Cultural Circle community.
