Tony Shawcross & Darryn Zuehlke
In Project: Views from Denver

Darryn Zuehlke, director of the City of Denver's Office of Telecommunications, joins the Denver League of Women Voters to discuss proposals to take the cable franchise for public access television from the city and put it with the state.

Also Tony Shawcross, director of Denver Open Media public access television, gives some history of his role in changing the business model of public access for a number of stations across the nation.

The details of electronic gadget evolution may have run away from some folks, but consider that just about 15 years ago, Internet was not commonly something people got in their homes.

Now it's available on cellphones everywhere, and the near future bodes greater confusion as various wireless things continue to grab parts of other gadget's marketshare.

Example: soon people will get Internet on their televisions and television shows on their PCs (many already do!)

So this is potentially soon going to change public access tv too. Who cares? Every producer at Denver Open Media public access television (you're watching us right now).
