Three Legislators speak to the Denver League of Women Voters
In Project: Views from Denver

Senator Morgan Carroll tells the Denver League of Women Voters about the interim committee studying Pinnacol Assurance, the state-created worker's compensation insurance company that does not pay taxes, but whose employees are part of the Public Employees Retirement Association.

Carroll tells the League that Pinnacol is illegally paying employees bonuses to deny claims, and was intending to amass the $2 billion pile of money to purchase an insurance company, which it is forbidden to do.

Rep. Karen Middleton discusses interim work on public education funding, with the comment that small school districts don't think they can afford to hire special ed specialists.

Sen. Rollie Heath reviews interim examination of the state's funding mechanisms.
