The FCC has proposed policy that would effectively defund thousands of Community Public Access TV stations nationwide, a move that is being challenged by the leaders of Portland, Oregon. Instead of joining with Portland in this effort, Denver Mayor Hancock is removing Public, Education & Government fees from Community Public Access Media, now managed by Denver Open Media. The City plans to take over management of media and content, and the 3 public access cable stations, to be overseen from the City & County building.
