On the first Friday of every month, Open Media Foundation holds a free community event, Open Music Sessions, at the Denver Open Media studios (near the Sante Fe Art Walk) that spotlights local performance groups, comedians, musical acts, and nonprofit organizations.

The September 2015 broadcast celebrates the 11th Anniversary of Independent Radio Station KGNU. It features a live musical performance by The Anthony Russo Band and stand up comedy from Matt Monroe and Christie Buchele.
