On the first Friday of every month, Open Media Foundation holds a free community event, Open Music Sessions, at the Denver Open Media studios (near the Santa Fe Art Walk) that spotlights local performance groups, comedians, musical acts, and nonprofit organizations.

The October 2017 broadcast features a live musical performance by local group Eldren, stand up comedy from ShaNae Ross, and a non-profit spotlight on Rocky Mounatin Human Services.
