Gary Community Investments invests in for-profit and philanthropic solutions for Colorado's low-income children and their families. Nearly 500,000 children in Colorado are living in low-income families. GCI focuses on four categories of school readiness, youth success, family economic security and community & economic development as paths to a successful future. The Early Care and Education Maps created by Shift Research Labs used third party mapping and public data to find out how far families traveled to ECE facilities. This mapping allows funders and policy makers to better understand where ECE facilities would strengthen communities based on socioeconomic status.
