Fix It: Healthcare At The Tipping Point
In Project: Health Matters

Richard Master, CEO of MCS Industries and Executive Producer of this documentary film, found that health care costs for his employees were increasing by double digits annually, just as health care costs as a percent of U.S. Gross Domestic Product were 18 percent in 2015 and rising. U.S. businesses are under relentless pressure from increasing healthcare costs that crowd out every area of the economy, including infrastructure needs, education, housing and pensions, while effectively reducing employee wages and consumer purchasing power. More than 60 percent of bankruptcies are due to medical costs. Excessive overhead costs - as much as 33 percent, result from the complex model of numerous commercial insurances, with middlemen who add enormous costs and little value to our health care system.  Commercial insurers protect their bottom line by increasing premiums, copays and deductibles while reducing benefits and shrinking provider access. Other developed countries, with single-payer insurance, spend almost half as much as the U.S. and have better outcomes. The solution is simplified single-payer health insurance, like traditional Medicare, but for all ages.   WWW.FIXITHEALTHCARE.COM
