The Burning Cradle: The Kempe Trio
In Project: The Burning Cradle

This episode of "The Burning Cradle" was originally broadcast in 2002 but it's still a goodee, with three experts from The Kempe Children's Center in Denver, Colorado. Dr. C. Henry Kempe and his wife, Dr. Ruth Kempe, began changing the world in the 1960s when they wrote about children being abused by their parents or families. Today, The Kempe Children's Center not only provides therapy for abused children, it also heads the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect, which held its international conference in Denver in 2002.

This episode provides a great deal of information on professional information gleaned for the benefit of parents and others wishing to understand how sexual abuse impacts children.

We bring this information to you as a means of countering the silence accorded to a taboo. Breaking that silence with high-qualify information innoculates us against it and drags what was done in the dark into the light to change our perspectives and motivate us to end child sexual abuse, despite its overwhelming statistics.
