Polar Visions is an educational film about the effects of changing climates on humans and ecosystems, particularly in polar regions. Stylistically, the film is a blend of a documentary and The Crocodile Hunter. The film is designed to either be watched in its entirety or each segment individually (a teaching tool for a topic being covered in a classroom environment). For the Denver Open Media community TV station, this film has been edited into 2 episodes. The first episode is segments 1 through 4, which are: (1) Introduction; (2) History of Polar Exploration; (3) Alaska: Permafrost Melting; and (4) Greenland: Ice core drilling. The second episode is segments 5 through 7, which are: (5) Greenland: The thawing of ice caps; (6) Polar sea ice: It's role in climate; and (7) Conclusion: What can we do about climate change?
