Towards the tail-end of 2017, Scotty made a number of solo road-trips across the American Southwest. Hours upon hours alone, on the road, with nothing but time. It was a lonesome period, but it proved productive from a writing perspective. This song was born out of multiple forays into the Utah desert and Texas panhandle. Isolation can lead to a desperate need for connection, and the theme of connection has permeated our 12x12 series. Musically, this song covers a lot of ground. We often joke that we'd have been better served as a band if we would've just picked one musical direction and stuck with it. Our sound can sometimes swing wildly from indie pop to aggressive indie rock. This song starts melodic, but slowly builds into something muscular and disarming. In one song, it covers our entire spectrum. We love it and we truly hope you find something in it.
