Nieto is a reporter for the Tribune-owned duopoly in Denver, which are CW2 KWGN and FOX31 KDVR.

When Nieto came to Denver in 2000, KWGN (Tribune) was a separate entity from KDVR (FOX O&O), and he began his KWGN tenure as a top story reporter for the new WB2 Morning News (now CW2 Daybreak). Along with the other KWGN stars (Dave Young, Natalie Tysdal, Chris Parente, Dave Fraser), Nieto merged with KDVR's anchors (Ron Zapollo, Libby Weaver, Nick Griffith).
