La Pompe Jazz is a Denver band est. 2013. Inspired by a love of classic "Hot Club" style jazz, they are a group of musicians from Denver sharing an exploration of Gypsy jazz, blues, and American jazz standards with their own interpretations. They have become a fixture of the local swing dance scene with regular performances at many of the top dance nights. La Pompe has also brought their music to a wide range of audiences in their performances at the Five Points Jazz Festival, The 1940s Ball, The Peoples Fair, Underground Music Showcase, and the Westword Music Showcase - where they were honored to receive the Producer's Choice Award.
La Pompe's folksy, rustic variant to the traditional jazz sound has earned them nominations with both Westword and 303 magazine for "Best Jazz band in Denver". Pulling inspiration from Gypsy jazz and swing heroes such as Django Reinhardt, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Prima, Nat King Cole & Fats Waller, LPJ has also released original compositions that present a new fusion of the vintage and modern. Covering the genre spectrum with string instruments and Colorado pride, don't miss a chance to catch La Pompe Jazz in action.

In this show I’ll travel to the Bear Creek Regional Park in Colorado Springs. Specifically we’ll visit at the Bear Creek Nature Center, which is in the area of the Lower Gold Camp road and Bear Creek road. This place reinforces my feeling of aw that there is so much to do in the “Springs” and you don’t even need to pack a lunch to get from one venue to another.
