On the first Friday of every month, Open Media Foundation holds a free community event, Open Music Sessions, at the Denver Open Media studios (near the Sante Fe Art Walk) that spotlights local performance groups, comedians, musical acts, and nonprofit organizations.

The December 2015 event features featuring stand-up comedy from Ben Kronberg and musical performances by Sorcha Richardson and Miss America by Wheary. It was also Denver Open Media's "Independent Voices" awards show, highlighting outstanding voices in our community.
