All Local. All the Time.

Who can submit content to Denver Open Media Radio 92.9 FM / 89.3 HD3?

Denver Open Media Radio is Public Access media. We do not have staff DJs or gatekeepers deciding what is and is not going to play on the station, our intent is to showcase local creativity. In order to be considered “local”, some element of the content should have been produced within the Front Range region.  Anyone from the community is free to submit content or host live shows and the listeners will vote to help decide what they want to hear most. To ensure DJs are abiding by FCC and DMCA rules, we do require you sign an annual membership agreement, agreeing to abide by our policies, procedures, and terms-of-use. To help cover the operating expenses inherent in getting this content on-air, there is an annual or monthly membership fee. The fee is based on equipment & facility access, not on individual fees for content submission or air-time.

Provided that your content does not break any FCC or DMCA guidelines, any member-submitted content, in accordance with our “local” focus, we guarantee to air at least once and be available for listening/voting on the denveropenmedia.org website.

The best way to get content on-air is to become a member. Our Basic Membership is $200/year or $20/month and includes unlimited access to our two state-of-the-art computer labs with the full Adobe and Final Cut software suites. Our Studio Access Membership is $1000/year or $100/month and includes unlimited access to our live production & recording studios, as well as our field equipment. If you cannot afford a membership due to financial hardships, we offer a needs-based 75% discount on our Studio Access Membership, provided you are pre-qualified for any low-income public assistance program.

We encourage members to sign up for a weekly timelot, and you can have a live or re-record timeslot. In order to obtain a weekly slot, you will need to have at least a Basic Membership, complete the Radio Operations Class, and to go live from our studios, you will need to take a studio production class, and have 3 shows ready to schedule (live shows excluded). Please fill out this Series Timeslot Request to start the process of securing a slot.

It's Not Just About Listening.

How do I submit my content?

Once you have signed up for a membership to Denver Open Media, you can submit content online through your Dashboard. First, create a New Project. A “project” is a show or an album. Then, you will create a “Show” within that project, and upload your audio file. A “show” is a song or an individual episode of your radio show.

Currently, we are accepting files in the MP3 format that do not exceed 100MBs and 58 minutes. If your show exceeds 58 minutes, feel free to split it into halves and submit as different parts (Part One, Part Two, etc.).

For every show (song/episode) submitted, you will need to also record an intro and an outro. You can submit this on the same page as your audio content file. The intro/outro script is below. Please fill in the blanks to best fit your content.
