DOM 104.7FM Content Submission Policies
Who can submit content to DOM 104.7FM?
Like our TV stations, DOM 104.7FM is Public Access media. We do not have staff DJs or gatekeepers deciding what is and is not going to play on the station. The intent of DOM 104.7FM is to showcase local creativity. In order to be considered “local”, some element of the content should have been produced within the Denver Metro Area. Anyone from the community is free to submit content or host live shows and the listeners will vote to help decide what they want to hear most. To ensure DJs are abiding by FCC and DMCA rules, we do require you sign an annual membership agreement, agreeing to abide by our policies, procedures, and terms-of-use. To help cover the operating expenses inherent in getting this content on-air, there is an annual membership fee. The fee is based on equipment & facility access, not on individual fees for content submission or air-time.
Provided that your content does not break any FCC or DMCA guidelines, any content submitted by a member in accordance with our “local” focus is guaranteed to air at least once, and be available for listening/voting on the denveropenmedia.org website.
The best way to get content on-air is to become a member. Our Basic Membership is $100 for the first year and $50 to renew and includes unlimited access to our two state-of-the-art computer labs with the full Adobe and Final Cut software suites. Our Equipment Access Membership is $500 for the first year and $250 to renew and includes unlimited access to our live production & recording studios, as well as over $3 million in field equipment. If you cannot afford a membership due to financial hardships, we offer a needs-based 75% discount on all our memberships, provided you are pre-qualified for any low-income public assistance program.
Do I need to have a membership to Denver Open Media to submit content?
If you do not wish to join or cannot afford a membership, the easiest way to get your content on air is through another member. Our partners at Denhac are developing an avenue for non-member content submissions, sustained by their volunteer members. However, this option is not yet available. As a fledgling station with no State, Local, or Federal funding, we are inventing a new approach to community-run media. We welcome your involvement and feedback as we navigate this new terrain.
How do I submit my content?
Once you have signed up for a membership to Denver Open Media, you can submit content online through your Dashboard. First, create a New Project. A “project” is a show or an album. Then, you will create a “Show” within that project, and upload your audio file. A “show” is a song or an individual episode of your radio show.
Currently, we are accepting files in the MP3 format that do not exceed 100MBs and 57 minutes. If your show exceeds 57 minutes, feel free to split it into halves and submit as different parts (Part One, Part Two, etc.).
For every show (song/episode) submitted, you will need to also record an intro and an outro. You can submit this on the same page as your audio content file. The intro/outro script is below. Please fill in the blanks to best fit your content.
