Description:Polar Visions is an educational film about the effects of changing climates on humans and ecosystems, particularly in polar regions. Stylistically, the film is a blend of a documentary and The Crocodile Hunter. The film is designed to either be watched in its entirety or each segment individually (a teaching tool for a topic being covered in a classroom environment). The main segments covered by Polar Visions are listed below. SEGMENTS: Introduction - 5:59 mins History of Polar Exploration - 6:11 mins Alaska-Permafrost Melting - 15:29 mins Greenland-Ice core drilling - 11:56 mins Greenland-The thawing of ice caps - 13:21 mins Polar sea ice-it's role in climate - 12:44 mins Conclusion-What can we do about climate change? - 8:12 mins The following video files are in .wmv format, which is made for Windows Media Player. It may not work with Quicktime (on Macs).
