Project Description

Weatherization: The First Step to Energy Efficiency

Cost-Neutral energy efficiency - it's so easy!

The first step (and least expensive step) to increasing your home's energy efficiency is usually as easy as simply insulating and air sealing. Beginning with energy audits, you will learn about what they are and more importantly how to use them most effectively. The workshop will then give a detailed look at the "nuts & bolts" and "how-to's" of weatherization, including insulating, air sealing, windows, doors, house wraps and siding. Real, full-scale examples of typical inefficient walls and energy retrofitted walls will give participants real-world examples of the why, how, and what to do to achieve maximum efficiency and lower energy bills.

The energy efficiency professionals will be able answer questions about energy audits, weatherization, and other energy efficiency measures, such as solar PV, solar hot water, geothermal, material reuse, and green building materials.
