S.O.S (Spotlight on Students)

Project Description

Produced by the Open Media Generation Youth Group

Youth produced show by middle and high school students around the Denver Metro area. The S.O.S. show spotlights students who are involved in activism, organizing and social justice activities in their schools and communities. We also showcase talented young performers and artists each month.

PUTTING THE POWER OF THE MEDIA IN THE HANDS OF THE YOUTH!

Denver youth aged 12 to 19 years of are encouraged to participate in Open Media Generation without restriction of finances.
1. Youth alternate learning studio, field and editing skills and all the responsibilities within each phase of production
2. Production of youth-related content
3. Share production skills with other youth, peer-to-peer training
4. Solicit additional youth content for DOM channels

The S.O.S. Production Group meets every Wednesday from 3:30-6:30pm at Denver Open Media. Questions? Call Ann at 720-222-0160, extension 203 or ann@openmediafoundation.org.

Participation in this group does not give membership to the students, but it will give them access to training, facilities and equipment during the monthly meetings. Youth who participate in trainings will be allowed to test out for the standard DOM certification for the regular test out fee of $25. Youth wanting traditional member access will be required to purchase memberships at regular DOM prices.
