First, I owe John Montgomery's Mom an apology for making changes to the stream last night during VlogTV. I was trying to improve the quality of the stream by moving from a QuickTime player to Flash based player. If you haven't checked out the new stream, please do! I'm looking for feedback on the quality. For those of you interested in the technology driving this, we are still using a Mac Mini to encode an H.264 stream. That file is now sent to Wowza running on the same server that the QuickTime Streaming Server was running on. Instead of sending QuickTime with the Real Time Stream Protocol (rtsp), Wowza sends the H.264 using Real Time Messaging Protocol (rtmp) that works with the most recent versions of Flash 9. I'm pretty excited about the quality of the new configuration and the new features we'll be adding in the weeks to come.
