The other day I had to leave a little earlier than usual, and excused myself with "gotta go wash the B1." For those who thought that was some kind of creative excuse I offer this photograph, from the Wings museum where I volunteer. My usual work there is radio/avionics related, like helping put the satellite station together (ham radio) so kids can talk with the International Space Station, but hey, retired bombers need spraying down sometimes too. The Cold War is becoming a distant memory for many, but it's hard to forget history when it's hands-on like this.
