Most people who know me well pretty much know that I love dogs in general. Jill always says that I love dogs more than I love human, maybe it is true. When I was in States, I always wanted to have a dog, but knowing that one day that I have to go back to Japan (with very difficult process of transferring a dog to another country) I refrained that desire and been dog sitting my friends' dogs instead. I think dogs are great companion and they entertain me. So when I got back to Japan I got somewhat excited that finally I got to have my own dog. It is not really my own, it's my mother's. But since we live together, Fuku (her name, which means Happiness in Japanese) is automatically becoming my dog. So, one night I got home from work and I saw a little puppy chained in my garage. I asked my mom and Jill and they said that puppy was ours. Apparently, Jill found her walking around paddy fields alone in a hot morning on the way to her work. She automatically took her and since she didn't have time to go back and had rush to work, she temporarily put her in nearby animal hospital and told the doctor (with broken Japanese) that she would be back to pick the puppy up if no one claim it. Turned out that no one claim the puppy that it was clearly that the poor puppy was thrown away just because it is a female dog. We didn't get why people would do such thing. The puppy was too cute to be thrown away. Jill and my mom picked it up and doctor was kind enough to gave us some free medicine and food for the poor puppy. So at the end of story we are very happy to keep the puppy and after a few consideration we named her "Aspen", something that will remind us of Colorado. I thought of naming her "Chiquita" which I think means cute or small in Spanish, but I think Aspen suits her better. Besides, I think Aspen will be big, probably bigger that Fuku. Oh, the doctor told us that Aspen is a Shiba mix. In the pic, you can see that was following my niece, and she thought that Aspen was stalking her. PS : I will post pics a soon as I figure it out how
