First, I am glad to be part of this. I hope all of you don't mind reading some stories from different part of the world (Japan that is). Second, pardon for my very Japanese-English, I hope you all can get my stories alright. PS: thanks for the automatic spelling correction, it helps a lot!
So, I've landed a new job over a month ago in a tv company called S-Project (short from Saga-Project, not Shit-Project okay...). It affiliates with Fuji TV Network and I got into cameraman/editor position. First day of work? it was the best first day of work in my entire life. I got to go to bigger city, Fukuoka and met with Japanese famous comedian and interviewed Cirque du Soleil casts for their promotional clip. But of course as the days go by, my work task is getting harder.
The camera that I handle is different from the cameras in DOM. A cameraman typically goes to a "loke" (location), films the topic, goes back to the studio, edits the clip and a lot of time we have to air the clip at the same day. It's a 'news' style. Everything goes quickly.
Another challenge that I have is I have to study a new editing system, Aurora. Have any of you hear this? No one in the office is using Mac. Everything is PC. Since I get used to with Final Cut Pro, this challenge is a bit frustrating at first. I am still in learning process, I know everything will be fine once I master Aurora (fingers crossed).
Ok, that's all for my first post. I'll post more exciting stories next time!
