Content Gathering

Purpose: to put new content on the air, to encourage & inspire others to create their own content, to air content created by local film/video makers, to teach others how to create PSAs

Projects & Tasks:

1. Contact and collect governmental/nonprofit films that can be shown

a. Research agencies, develop contact list, contact for submission of films

b. Collect and view submitted films, develop theme blocks (forest service, geological service)

c. Develop intro/outro for each themed block, edit into 29- or 59- minute programs

d. Ingest, dominize, and broadcast programs

2. Contact all other public access TV stations in nation for their content

a. Get list and contact info from Alliance for Community Media

b. Contact for content, ask for their local producers who might want to send their show out

c. Receive shipments, view and edit for 29- or 59-minute programs

d. develop intro/outro for each themed block in Final Cut Pro or other program

e. Ingest/dominize and program for broadcast

3. Develop regular programming that reflects the volunteer’s interest

a. Work with supervisor to flesh out what theme could be found in films

b. Research theme/topic of interest online for possible films of relevance

c. Contact film makers of themed films, ask if they want to submit

d. Receive, document, ingest/dominize and program films submitted
