Free Use Membership Guidelines

Use of D.O.M. equipment is free with the required certification and membership. All materials created with the equipment and facilities of Denver Open Media under free use or expanded member rates must be submitted to D.O.M. channels for cablecast and webstreaming. Additionally, to maintain the use of free equipment/facilities we require the amount of use be commensurate with the amount of programming submitted to Denver Open Media.

Only non-commercial, public access, creative-commons projects qualify for the free and discounted use of equipment and studios, after certification is complete.

Field Equipment: Members may reserve one camera kit per 24-hour period Tuesday - Saturday or on the weekend from Saturday - Tuesday.

Studio: Members may reserve one studio for up to 3 hours.

Editing: Members may reserve one edit station for up to 6 hours.

Expanded Member Rates

Prices below are for members whose needs surpass the membership benefits, such as reserving two DV cameras simultaneously (for example, membership benefits are limited to one free DV camera at a time, and thus the second would be rented at the rate below). Also, the camera packages are only free to members for 24 hours at a time, or over the weekend (Sat-Tues), and the studios are only available for free for 3 hours per day; longer reservations will be charged with the fees listed below.

Footage shot with the use of equipment through the Expanded Member Rates still must be submitted for cablecast on D.O.M. channels. Using D.O.M. equipment for any other purpose is considered a commerical rental and the Commercial Rates will be applied.
