Maybe Deb's new nephew is cute, but can he say most of the alphabet? I didn't think so.

I got to spend a little time this weekend as well with the niece and nephew, and I have some pics to back up my big talk...

Brian and I arrived in Vegas today for the announcements of Deproduction/DOM's Knight News Challenge award. Vegas is certainly on my short-list of least-favorite cities in the country... and an odd place for this convention, but the city sure is an experience to witness. We showed up early to shoot some video, and had the rest of the day to do with as we please. Neither of us are too big on gambling (or have much money to gamble with), so we found other ways to entertain ourselves.

One of my first two-day weekends in years where I didn't work on Deproduction or DOM... so I figured I'd share what a weekend away from work looks like.

Today was a busy work day, but on Sunday, we attended the Green Apple Festival, which took place in 8 cities across the country.  There were loads of people there. It got me excited about the summer, and outdoor film screenings and music events like Jazz in the Park.

My parents bought me a very nice king-sized mattress for a college graduation present. I didn't realize the significance at the time, but in the years since, I've spent probably more than 1/3rd of my life on that mattress, and I highly recommend getting the nicest, largest mattress you can afford, even if you sleep alone, which I usually do nowadays.
